It's hard to comprehend the perspective of a four year-old growing up without a family. Without the love of a father or a mother. Without the sense of home. Without the foundation of stability and safety we all take for granted. But to take the only perspective that the child has ever known and turn that on its' head by introducing all new people who don't speak her language and who live somewhere very far away from everything she has ever known and trusts is, well, a pretty scary thought.
So how can something so simple, so wonderful, so obvious, be so complex at the same time? Just ask a four year-old and place yourself in her shoes. At the same time we celebrate, we also step softly, knowing that this is one of God's children and that she is likely just as scared and unsure about her new world as we are of our own worthiness to be her parents and that family for her.
To change the world is one thing. To change the world of a child's is another.
That was written beautifully!! Miss you Fell family!
